An Evening With Christopher Watkin - Living Biblically in a World That Isn't

On November 12, our church family gathered to hear from Christopher Watkin, author of Biblical Critical Theory. Over the course of the evening, Dr. Watkin helped us rethink one of culture’s most persistent questions: Who am I? Drawing on everything from Star Wars to Viktor Frankl to the biblical narrative itself, he showed us why the stories we live in shape us far more than we realize, and why the gospel offers a truer, richer, and more hope-filled story than any we could possibly write for ourselves.ABOUT CHRISTOPHER WATKINChristopher joined us from Melbourne, Australia, where he is a Senior Lecturer in French Studies at Monash University. He is a Fellow of The Keller Center for Cultural Apologetics, a leading voice at the intersection of philosophy, theology, and cultural critique, and recently authored Biblical Critical Theory. His writing traces how individuals and societies make sense of the world—especially when confronted with contrasting beliefs and ideas.
