An inside look into the life of a first responder (with Phil Klein)

from SHIFT with Elena Agar · host Elena Agaragimova

In this episode of Shift, I chat with Phil Klein - host and former firefighter/paramedic, now a higher education leader - who delves into the heroic and heartbreaking stories told directly by the men and women who work the front lines every day. Whether you’re a firefighter, law enforcement officer, EMT, paramedic, or simply interested in the lives of first responders, Stories From the Road presents a captivating, weekly perspective into the unique world of public service as only those who have experienced it can share. This was one of the most eye opening podcasts that I have done, as I really had no idea what the life of a first responder is really like.  Tune in to learn more!    About Phil:  Phil Klein is a former firefighter/paramedic who spent 25 years serving his community. Klein started his public service career in 1990 as a volunteer firefighter on Long Island. After earning his paramedic credential in 1992, he worked for NYC EMS before spending nearly 10 years as a police medic for the Nassau County Police Department. In 2002, he and his family relocated to Georgia, where he continued his career as a firefighter/paramedic for a metro Atlanta department. He ended the full-time portion of his public service as a lieutenant for another department north of Atlanta. Since leaving public service, Klein earned a doctorate from the University of Georgia and currently works in higher education in Wheeling, WV.   Stories from the Road Podcast: https://www.storiesfromtheroadpodcast.com/  About your host:  Elena Agaragimova is the co-founder of Bessern (https://www.bessern.co/) 👉 We help people in corporations 🧑‍💼 to be more resilient and equipped with the skills that matters to thrive and be at their best at work.  Bloom Youth (https://www.bessern.co/bloom-youth) 👉 We help students 🧑‍🎓 to get prepared for the future of work through our Bloom Youth Bootcamps - Bloom Youth is the first MENA Future of Education platform made for students to accelerate their talents.   Learn more about Elena: https://linktr.ee/ElenaAgar   Connect with Elena on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/elenaagaragimova/   Twitter: https://twitter.com/elenaagaragi  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elenaagaragimova/   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/elenaagaragimova   YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX-tUIvseCy5SKgzkZuXv7Q?view_as=subscriber
