An Integrated Approach to Skin Health with Chris Gibson

Chris Gibson and I discuss the concept of an integrated approach to skin health on the show today. Specifically, we talk about stem cells. There are three stem cell categories: embryonic, mesenchymal and tissue-specific stem cells which repair and renew specific tissue such as the skin.When there is a decline is the function of the epidermal stem cells, what is happening is the telomeres are shortening each time the cells divide. Eventually, this progressive shortening of the telomeres leads to their death.
