SLIS’s own Dr. Anthony Bernier interviews Peking University’s Wendy Ding, a PhD student from the Department of Information Management in China. Ms. Ding’s current research project, funded by the National Social Science Foundation in China, investigates reading culture and reading promotion. Ms. Ding is visiting and in residence at SLIS for one year sponsored by China’s Scholarship Council. In addition to talking about her own research Ms. Ding’s interview will also address the nature of earning and using a Ph.D. in China, the changing nature of reading culture there, and her observations about her year in the United States.
