An Interview with the New County Commissioner Roland Mason

from KBUT · host KBUT

Roland Mason will take office on January 8 as the new District 3 Commissioner in Gunnison County. A lifelong resident of Crested Butte, he recently sat down with KBUT to discuss the future of the region both economically and culturally. For Mason, it all comes back to housing. Mason supported Ballot Initiative 6A, which would have levied taxes earmarked for affordable housing projects by the Gunnison Valley Regional Housing Authority. He says it’s failure has to do with a housing plan that wasn’t finished before the election.
