Even victory demands caution, and trust must be secured before comfort can follow.   In The Odyssey, Book 10, Odysseus refuses Circe’s invitation until she swears a binding oath to do him no further harm. Only then does he accept her hospitality. He is bathed, clothed, and honored with careful ritual, yet even amid warmth, food, and rest, his heart remains troubled.
