Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live." ​Love is often kindled by a response. When you call someone who always picks up, a deep sense of trust naturally forms. The Psalmist begins this chapter not witha grand theological statement, but with a simple, personal declaration: "I love the Lord." Why? Because God listened. ​Notice the image verse 2 paints: God turned His ear. Picture a loving parent leaning down, tilting their head closer to catch the faint, tearful whisper of a hurting child. God isn't distant, distracted, or indifferent to your situation. He lowers Himself to hear your exact voice among billions. He doesn't just hear noise; He hears you. ​The real power of this passage lies in its future promise: "Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live." Past answers to prayer are meant to be fuel for future faith. Remembering the times God heard your cry in the past becomes your reason to keep praying tomorrow, next year, and for the rest of your life. ​Whatever burden, anxiety, or quiet cry you carry today, know that Heaven's ear is tilted in your direction.
