An Overview Of The Environmental Challenges In The Town Of Brookhaven

As a region, Long Island is unique in that it is surrounded by water and is served by a sole source aquifer for its drinking water. Couple these circumstances with a dense population and a variety of issues arise that must be dealt with by its elected officials, including those related to municipal waste, wastewater, and surface water quality. In this episode of PWGC’s Environmental Echo, Paul Boyce, PWGC President & CEO, sits down with Brookhaven Town Supervisor, Ed Romaine, to address the many environmental challenges currently facing one of the region’s largest towns. As an elected official, Supervisor Romaine gives an inside look at the challenges Brookhaven is actively addressing through the development of innovative solutions that will benefit the Town and its residents.
