An Own Your Thrive 8:46 Episode, with Emeka Nwafor

from The Empowered in My Skin Podcast

In the wake of the killing of George Floyd, and the ensuing focus on Race, many of us are asking what we can do. I have also asked myself this same question, and I've since committed to make sure that the focus on Race, does not let up, until we start to see real transformation, and sustainable change unfold.Enough is Enough! This podcast is all about thriving, and as a black woman, I can appreciate the effort it would take for a person of color, to not only get to a place where they "own their thrive", but to stay there. The systems and structures in place today, were not designed to help people of color thrive. So, while I respect all of my guests who have found and own their thrive, I do have a new found respect for those that are people of color, as I recognize how much of getting to our thrive and staying there as best as possible is against the current of the established systems and structures. These 8:46 episodes, are an extract from the full interview with my guest. This is their response to what the significance and symbolism of having a "knee to the neck" for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, means to them.Stay connected with us online:https://linktr.ee/nkechinwaforrobinson
