An unplugged tape recorder
from Daily Picture · host Stephanie Hawkins
Today I saw a (non Bluetooth) tape recorder, or suchlike, with the buttons for play, rewind etc. Of course, in order to function, it needs to have an electricity source in existence, to which we need to choose to plug our device into and switched on before even the play button is pressed. Similarly, none of what Christians say they do in the name and power of Jesus can be attributed to Jesus unless His Father God actually exists. If He exists then we need to choose to be connected to Him and once so, still further need to make the choice to operate with Him. Even if we don't know how electricity is harnessed and don't know all about God, it doesn't mean that neither exists. If we are not connected to God and He has no impact in our lives, does that prove He doesn't exist? Prophet Isaiah warns us not to make a rash judgement, as recorded in Isaiah 45:9: "What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, 'Stop, you're doing it wrong!' Does the pot exclaim, 'How clumsy can you be?' ".
