Anbudan Ilaiyaraaja (With Love, Ilaiyaraaja) is a love letter to the legendary Tamil composer in Indian cinema, from Pooja and Julien. Hailing from India and France respectively, the couple first met through his music, and this mix attempts to reflect the collective love millions of people have for Ilaiyaraaja's music across regions, faiths, and languages. Played through the speakers of government-run town buses, village festivals, wedding halls, tea shops, and local ice-cream vans, his songs have taught people love, poetry and belonging. Each song in this mix, therefore, carries a memory, a feeling of home and collective love. Pooja Ashokkumar, founder of Bombay Tamil History (2024), is a public historian, researcher and Tamil film music curator based in Mumbai, India Julien Dechery is a Paris-based DJ, curator, and archivist, with releases on Efficient Space, Good Morning Tapes, and The Trilogy Tapes.
