Anchored 27: Will Jesus Find Faith?

In the parable of the persistent widow, Jesus contrasts the reluctance of an unjust judge with the certainty of God’s care. If a corrupt man can eventually be moved to act because of relentless pleading, how much more will our righteous Father respond to His people who cry out to Him day and night?Jesus’ words challenge us to examine both our persistence in prayer and our confidence in God’s justice. Prayer is not meant to be a one-time transaction or a magical shortcut—it is a continual, relational pressing into God’s will. It reshapes our desires, strengthens our faith, and sustains us when His answers seem delayed.The sobering question Jesus leaves us with—“When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”—reminds us that prayer is ultimately a matter of faith. Persistent prayer flows from trust in God’s goodness and sovereignty, not in our ability to control outcomes. True faith presses on, waiting on God’s justice, living in fellowship with Him, and showing the world that He alone is worthy of our confidence.
