Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. If the loudest voice in your life is exhaustion, anxiety, or the fear of getting it wrong, it’s easy to assume that voice is telling the truth about who you are. We push back on that assumption with one line of Scripture that refuses to let “noise” be the final authority: John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” We talk about the roles many of us learned in our families, the strong one, the helper, the achiever, the peacemaker, the rebel, the comedian, and how those hats can quietly become masks that protect our hearts while also keeping us stuck. We also wrestle with what it means for Jesus to know us completely and still move toward us. The word “and” changes everything: Jesus doesn’t only know us, he makes his home with us. Even when your mind races, your emotions react, and your body carries old stress, Christ is still present at the center. We share a personal story of burnout and self-doubt that sounded persuasive on the surface, then show how Jesus reframes the moment by naming what’s true at the core: a heart that still loves God. From Psalm 46, “Be still and know that I am God,” we explore stillness as spiritual orientation, not denial. Fear, pain, and failure can give information, but they cannot shepherd you. The goal is congruence: heart, mind, soul, and strength increasingly moving in the same direction, so the compassion, courage, patience, truth, and generosity of Jesus become visible through your life.
