After watching a somewhat underwhelming "Great American" solar eclipse we wonder if the universe is trying to tell us something….    The Appalachian Trail — a marked, 2,190 mile long-distance hiking trail in the Eastern United States; from Springer Mountain, Georgia to Mount Katahdin (Ka-Tah-Din), Maine  Maiden Peak — A steep-sided shield volcano in the Cascade Range of central Oregon. Generally considered a challenging hike. Great for birding, hiking.
