Andrew Downie - First Half
from jonny_brick Hosted by jonny_brick
Hibernian fan Andrew left his Edinburgh home for sunnier climes. After stints in Mexico and Haiti, he settled in Brazil and was a wire reporter for Reuters, covering sport and politics in the country. His first book, Doctor Socrates, told the brilliant story of one of world football’s cult heroes. Andrew’s new book is the inside story of the 1970 World Cup, which he calls ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’. Won by Brazil, the tournament had goals and skills galore and was the first to be broadcast in colour. Find the book here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08GPCTPD1/
