Andrew Tate’s Grandmother, Elon Musk and Ukraine, and ‘None Dare Call It Conspiracy’
from The Garrett Ashley Mullet Show · host Garrett Ashley Mullet
Our Biblical Training Group met again last night, and went through Lecture 2 of ‘A Guide to Christian Theology’ with Gary Breshears; the topic was General Revelation. Of special interest to me was something Breshears pointed out about Psalm 19, and the transition in it from the generic term for God used at the beginning – ‘Elohim’ – to the specific name of God – ‘Yahweh’ – beginning in verse 7, as the subject shifts from general to special revelation, and from what Creation tells us about God in the abstract to what Scripture tells us about God in the specifics. This is a helpful way for us to think about the way we relate to God, and also the way we should go about talking of God with one another. Yes, wicked men have suppressed the truth because their deeds are dark; but they can’t suppress all of the truth, or else they would die. So don’t cast your pearls before swine, or give to dogs what is holy. But do draw on connection points, and correct error in yourself and others with gentleness and respect. But speaking of general revelation, and God's common grace to all of us, I love the setup and delivery in a recent YouTube short of Andrew Tate talking about his grandmother's 93rd birthday, in particular the cutaways to the beautiful young woman in the red dress sitting beside Tate, who seems deep in thought about what he has to say, like she’s re-evaluating her priorities. As Carl Trueman points out in ‘Strange New World,’ young women who dress in a way that is rebellious toward previous generations, or contrary to what their parents or grandparents would approve of, they are nevertheless seeking acceptance in a group or family. The group they now desire acceptance into, though it used to be the family, is their peers, and what is considered fashionable in their generation, particularly their clique. How should this relate to what God’s Word tells us about the role of our church and family, as well as our responsibilities to our church and family? And what is our vision of “the good life” informed by this? Lord willing, that vision should have short, medium, and long-term goals that have to do with multi-generational faithfulness. But while we're on the topic of faithfulness, and gratitude, the Ukrainian ambassador recently took to Twitter to tell Elon Musk where he can go for suggesting openly a way to bring peace between Russia and Ukraine before we all find ourselves in WWIII. Is the gentleman from Ukraine unfamiliar with the saying “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you," or is he playing to it? Either way, Elon Musk is now asking the Pentagon to pay for the donated Starlink service, and saying that his company SpaceX cannot continue providing it for free. Besides that, he is taking the Ukrainian ambassador's advice. In other news, I started 'None Dare Call It Conspiracy' yesterday, and hope to finish it today. This work by Gary Allen, with Larry Abraham, is the comprehensive conspiracy theory. This is the conspiracy theory to end all conspiracy theories. The premise setting up the history told and conclusions drawn is that there are principally two ways to survey history. First, there is the accidental, wherein things just happen and we all must react. Second, there is the conspiratorial, wherein someone or something is making strategic decisions behind the scenes to set in motion what the majority of us react to, even as those setting these things in motion are the principal actors. One of the major hinge-points is the conclusion that if international banking interests have consistently funded global communism, and they don’t fear the spread of communism, that’s because they control communism like a piece on a chessboard. But how does Ephesians 6:12 relate to all of this? For we do wrestle against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. And are these them in our day?
