Andy B meets Carl Beech to talk about the Freedom and Justice Partnership

from Pure Conversation, with Pure247Radio · host Andy B Interviews

Lithium batteries power so many things including mobile phones, laptops, computers and cars. To keep those devices safe, cobalt has been used around the lithium to keep it cool enough for us to use. But, where does that cobalt come from?It is suggested that some 70% of the global supply of cobalt, and copper, comes from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). And, of that 70%, some 20% is thought to come from mines where up to 40,000 children dig through rock, with their bare hands – and no safety equipment – to manually mine these materials.Carl Beech and Mark Preston visited one of these mines, in person, and saw the reality of what is actually going on. It was a dangerous road, and they risked their lives to see, up close and personal, what is really going on.For more information visit their website – freedomandjusticepartnership.com Get In TouchSupport the showPure247Radio.org is The Pure Choice, and Everyone's cup of tea even if yours is coffee!Facebookfacebook.com/Pure247RadioInstagraminstagram.com/Pure247RadioX (Twitter)twitter.com/Pure247RadioYouTubeyoutube.com/@Pure247Radio
