Andy Hully - Episode 17 - Milton Keynes Marathon Race Director

Welcome to Episode 17 and one I'm sure a few of you will be very interested in!   In this episode I sat down with Andy Hully the race director of the Milton Keynes marathon.   Milton Keynes Marathon first started in 2012 to signify the Olympic year. It's now turned into a huge event over the last few years with the running community actively getting involved by either running the event, volunteering or spectating. Taking place every May Bank Holiday it's one of the biggest races on our local calendar.   The Milton Keynes Marathon not only has the main event, but a half marathon, superhero fun run - a 1 mile race for the family, a new 10km race and the famous 5km rocket the day before with a great course for a PB! The MK marathon is iconic due to the fact that you get to finish in the football stadium cheered on by all of your friends and family.   Andy very kindly spoke to me about how the events unfolded in March leaving him with no option to postpone the event until September. with huge uncertainty around Autumn events and a very crowded race calendar I asked Andy to share his thoughts on what he sees mass races looking like in the future.   I hope you enjoy this event and want to thank Andy once again for coming onto the podcast.
