RockStep is a shopping center investment company based out of Houston; with an emphasis on investing in "hometown" communities, RockStep purchased Manhattan Town Center Mall in 2022. Weiner speaks on the essential economic drivers that make Manhattan an attractive location, the future of in-person retail shopping, and their unique investment model. In the second half of the hour, Downtown Manhattan's executive director Gina Snyder joins to talk about the close relationship between the Manhattan Town Center Mall and the downtown strip. Snyder speaks on the mixed response of Manhattan residents to RockStep's involvement, the mall's economic significance in Manhattan, and shopping small.
