Her purpose includes helping authors to feel empowered, encouraged, and to gain education on the book publishing process.  Angela Thomas Smith is the founder of AAALAC (African American Author Literacy Awareness Campaign) formed in 2018. She is a domestic violence survivor. Her journey to bring awareness to authors of color internationally with in person and virtual events has led her to create the Aspiring Authors Magazine where authors collaborate, build their brand and are interviewed about their life's story of overcoming adversity.
