Anger Is Never Justified
from ACIM Inspiration with Anthony Gold · host Anthony Gold
There’s a very challenging line in A Course in Miracles that reads, “Anger is never justified.” When we feel attacked or unfairly treated, we want retribution. We want the offending party to be held accountable in some way. We want justice. But justice is impossible from such a state. Whenever we judge any situation, we are with our ego and projecting the contents of our wrong-minded thought system. In fact, the only way we can be without peace is if we’ve chosen the ego. No one and no-thing can take away our unceasing state of inner joy. If we aren’t experiencing that, it’s only because we’ve chosen to temporarily ignore it.If we feel any sense of anger - whether that’s a mild twinge of annoyance or murderous rage - it makes no difference; we’ve chosen the ego and are projecting its contents onto a particular person or situation. But as soon as we catch ourselves doing that, we can make a different choice and escape all pain that choosing the ego has brought us.Support the show
