Our goal is to remove BSL from Miami Dade County and to continue fighting against similar legislation throughout our country. MCABSL’s main goal is to lift the Miami Pit Bull Ban that is responsible for the thousands of innocent dogs killed by this hideous ordinance. The ordinance was enacted in 1989 as a result of an alleged Pit Bull attacking a small girl. The knee jerk reaction taken by the Miami Dade County Commission at that time was to Ban Pit Bulls in the county. This led to a slaughtering of all American Staffordshire Terriers, American Staffordshire Bull Terriers, the American Pit Bull Terriers and their mixes.
