Big Idea - Jesus has been moving toward the cross from the time he left Galilee, but now the hour has come and things are rapidly being set in motion. In verses 1-13 we see four different people or groups who all have very different ideas about who Jesus is and what they need to do with Him. Some get it very wrong, and in fact, only one gets it right. We would expect the disciples to be the ones who really understand who Jesus is and what is important, after all the time they have spent with Him. But they are not the ones who got it right. What were they still missing in their understanding? How did their failure to really grasp Jesus and His mission cause them to have the wrong understanding about what was most important? If they got it wrong, is it possible we are getting it wrong? Is it possible, we have the wrong priorities in life? That we are too focused on things that are not the most important and we are missing the things that are vitally important? How can we be certain we are like the woman who got it right and not the disciples who got it wrong?
