Now I know what you're thinking – what does a butterfly have to do with swimming? Well, besides the stroke named after it, quite a bit actually. This quote speaks to transformation. Learning to swim – literally or figuratively – often begins at the point where you feel like you’re drowning in the unfamiliar. But with time, effort, and probably a little coughing up of pool water, you adapt. You grow. You float. And eventually, you soar… or at least do a half-decent backstroke.Learning to swim will keep you safe at the beach, it can be a fun, competitive sport and it can be a skill you get well paid for as a life guard or an instructor.And if you don't yet know how to swim... today would be the day to start learning.So if you’re feeling stuck today, remember – it might just be the start of your metamorphosis.
