Today is National Winnie the Pooh Day because this is the birthday of Alan Alexander Miln, who goes by A. A. Miln, the English author of the books about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh. Also born on this day in Harlem, Georgia in 1892 American comic actor Oliver Hardy, half of the team Laurel & Hardy, the other half being Stanley Laurel.
