Jesus was criticized. Martin Luther King, jr. was criticized. Mother Teresa was criticized. Heck even one of the greatest and most successful singer songwriters of all time, Paul McCartney, was criticized. Despite his immense popularity and nearly unparalleled success there were folk who tried to dismiss, diminish and belittle his music saying he wrote soppy love songs. Paul’s answer to them is a great model for us:“Well, I know what they mean, but, people have been doing love songs forever. I like 'em, other people like 'em, and there's a lot of people I love -- I'm lucky enough to have that in my life…”So he wrote and sang the lyrics “What’s wrong with that? I’d like to know.
