Anthony Alabi- Walked Away From A Two Year NFL Contract To Pursue His Dreams Of Becoming An Actor

from The Actors Lounge · host Melanie Victor

Anthony Alabi is a multi-talented actor and former NFL lineman for the Miami Dolphins. Hard work and passion are what drives him in his pursuits of acting, writing and performing. That dedication is now paying off. Alabi can be seen starring in his first leading male role opposite Tia Mowry and Loretta Devine in the new Netflix comedy series “Family Reunion." His other television acting credits include a recurring role on Amazon Prime Video’s “Bosch” as well as guest starring on shows such as CBS’ “NCIS,” HBO’s “Insecure,” ABC’s “Modern Family” and Fox’s “The Mick.” To pursue his acting career, Anthony moved to Los Angeles in 2010 after retiring from the NFL. He fully immersed himself in studying and training both in drama and comedy before even looking for representation. Alabi has built a reputation as having a knack for comedic timing, while expressing vulnerability in dramas, rarely seen in a man his size. Alabi is also a writer and has built a library of comedy and drama scripts. His signature as a writer is creating a relatable world with a touch of absurdism. Anthony has produced many comedic digital sketches that can be seen online under the banner “Mudda Sucka.” Alabi is originally from the great state of Texas and went to TCU for college. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife Caroline, two kids, Ande and Axton and their cock-a-poo, Watson.
