Anti-aging potential of telomere biology

from Essentials of Healthy Living · host Village Green Apothecary

Host Dr. Kevin Passero and his special guest Dr. William Andrews will be discussing the anti-aging potential of telomere biology. William H. Andrews, Ph.D., has worked in the biotech industry for 30 years, focusing the last 18 years on finding ways to extend human lifespan through work with lengthening telomeres, which are genetic structures found at the ends of our chromosomes. Short telomeres have been associated with the aging process, and preserving or lengthening telomeres is thought to be one way we might reach for "the fountain of youth." Dr. Andrews is presently the founder, President and CEO of Sierra Sciences, a biotech company focused exclusively on developing pharmaceuticals that will induce the production of telomerase (the enzyme that re-lengthens telomeres) in all our cells.
