For the majority of the band's career, their members included Justin Sane (vocals, guitar), Chris Head (guitar), Pat Thetic (drums), and Chris Barker, AKA Chris No. 2 (vocals, bass). The band was originally formed by Sane and Thetic in 1988. Notable past members include the bassists Jamie "Cock" Towns and Andy Flag. Anti-Flag was also known for its advocacy of progressive political movements such as Greenpeace, Amnesty International, and the Occupy movement.
