Any Such Thing

Have you ever felt like you have something on your face that everyone else can see, but you are completely unaware of it? In this candid and challenging message, Pastor Chris Lodriguss unpacks Ephesians 5:25–27 to remind us that believers are called to live as the bride of Christ. Jesus is actively working to present His church to Himself without spot, wrinkle, or any such thing. Through humorous, real-life illustrations like messy birthday smash cakes, barbecue rib stains, and hot summer wedding sweat, Pastor Chris identifies three distinct spiritual stains that can compromise our walk with God: the stain of satisfaction (getting caught up in sinful enjoyment), the stain of secrecy (hiding internal sin and unforgiveness from others), and the stain of saturation (becoming so accustomed to gossip, greed, or self-righteousness that we lose sensitivity to the Holy Spirit). He also distinguishes between spiritual stains, which are cleansed instantly through the blood of Jesus, and spiritual wrinkles, which represent character flaws that require ongoing discipleship and iron-sharpens-iron community. Listen in to learn how honest confession before God and trusted believers brings true freedom and spiritual healing.
