A sultry evening in late spring or early summer. You're sitting in an almost deserted restaurant. Behind the wide open panoramic windows are black silhouettes of cypresses and the lights of the city, spreading like a crescent along the coast. Your boldly colored silk shirt clings to your body. An olive pit floats in a muddy glass. A woman quietly weeps at the next table, unsuccessfully attempting to light a cigarette with her shaking hands. Colorful confetti is generously scattered across the dark brown tile floor. The person with whom you arrived together went away a few hours ago «to dance for a minute» and disappeared without a trace. A crimson lipstick stain remains on a crumpled napkin. It's time to leave, but instead you gesture to a bored waitress standing near a huge dieffenbachia to renew your champagne. She rolls her eyes in displeasure and heads toward the bar.
