Scripture: Genesis 12:1-9, Romans 10:1-13, John 20:24-30In a culture shaped by individuality and littered with questions, opinions, and interpretations among people, how do we land on what is essential to the Christian faith?  How do we summarize the entirety of scripture into just a few sentences?  In the early Church, the creeds were the key way of doing this.  A creed is simply a statement of what we believe about God.  But its even more than that.  The creeds originate in the teaching of Jesus disciples and contain essential doctrines and beliefs that summarize the gospel and are foundational to the Christian faith.  Over the next several weeks we will seek to understand what is being expressed in the Apostles Creed, and how these statements form our faith rooted in truth and are more than just mere words spoken on a Sunday morning worship service, but the essence of what we believe as the body of Christ!Support the show
