Apostolic Community Transforming Society (Acts 2:38-47)

In Acts 2:38-47, we see the Apostle Peter preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ before a huge crowd. Amongst them, about three thousand people embraced the message of repentance and forgiveness by faith in Christ and became believers. A new community emerged and started a mighty movement that is still growing and expanding today. I'm talking about the Church, the Body of Christ. Jesus said, " ...upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 16:18-19); "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me" (John 12:32).Peter was an apostle, full of the Holy Spirit and faith. He and others like John, Philip, Paul, Barnabas, and thousands more pioneered a revolutionary army that is still invading our world today. They were soldiers of the cross, who stood up for Jesus whatever the cost.God's truth marches on today. The truth that there is power in the cross, there is power in the blood. There is apostolic authority and anointing in the name of Jesus. Oh, if Peter, if Paul were alive today, they would still be amazed that souls are being saved, sick bodies are being healed, demons are being cast out and believers are being baptized in the Holy Spirit. From Jerusalem to Judaea, to Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth, the Great Commission is being fulfilled in an unprecedented way today.The book of Acts, especially in chapter 2:38-47, is the blueprint for the Church today. Heaven is still writing the next chapter of a book about the spread of the Gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit. Will you and I be the vessels He works through? Will we be community transformers for Jesus in our day and age? Hallelujah!
