Apple is skipping the M6 Pro and Max!
from Phonegram News
Apple is officially killing the M6 Pro and M6 Max chips before they even exist. Instead of the usual yearly upgrade, Apple is skipping a whole generation of pro silicon to jump straight to the M7 family in 2027. Why? Because of AI. Apple is rewriting their entire roadmap to build chips that can handle massive AI workloads. The base M6 chip is still coming with a speed boost to 200 gigabytes per second. But if you want those high-end Pro and Max chips, you are going to be waiting. The only massive beast coming sooner is the M5 Ultra, packing an insane 80 graphics cores and support for up to 768 gigabytes of memory. Apple is skipping a generation to make a giant leap instead of boring, incremental updates. Are you willing to wait for the M7, or does this delay ruin your upgrade plans?
