Apple Picking Boom in Rutland County | Montpelier News

Apple picking is back in full swing in Rutland County, with farmers celebrating a bumper harvest after last year’s drought. Cobble Knoll Orchard, just ten years old, saw its saplings struggle during the dry spell but is now bursting with fruit thanks to this year’s perfect rainfall. Visitors can pick eight apple varieties daily through October 25th, plus flowers and pumpkins — and if you’re not into picking, grab warm cider donuts or homemade pies while you’re there.
