Dr. Mark Benden, executive director of the Texas A&M Ergonomics Center, returns to "Problem Solved" for a discussion about workers' transition to remote work with Aaron Grimmer, occupational therapist with Aurora Health Care. Since the lockdowns related to Covid-19, many traditional office workers have found themselves working from home for all or part of the week. This phenomenon was already a growing trend before the pandemic, but the acceleration we all experienced recently will go down as one of the greatest worker migration events in history. As we struggle to emerge into some sort of new normal, it appears now that employees and employers have determined that some amount of hybrid, flexible or fully remote work is here to stay. For the ergonomist, what does that imply about our responsibilities to the remote worker, their tools, equipment, training, indoor air quality and general work environment?
