Apply the Easy Calming Head Hold to Release Anxiety and Stress

from Easy Stress Cures · host Stephen Carter

In this episode you learn a simple, effective method to calm anxiety and release stress. The technique is called the Frontal Occipital Hold and it also is called the Calming Head Hold. You can apply the Frontal Occipital Hold while seated, standing, or laying down.Step 1: Place one hand, palm open, on your forehead. You can use either the right or left hand. Your touch should be moderately firm, but gentle. There’s no need to exert physical pressure beyond what’s needed to keep the hand in place.Step 2: Place the other hand on the back of your head. Again, use the amount of pressure needed to keep the hand in place.Step 3: Hold both hands in place for 2 - 3 minutes . Breathe slowly and deeply, but gently. Simply maintain awareness of the felt sense of your hands and your breathe. If you notice either arm getting fatigued, you drop your hands and shake your arms. You can also reverse hands anytime you like. As you maintain the Frontal Occipital Hold, you’ll likely notice a progressive calming of mind and body over the 2 to 3 minutes. You can of course maintain the position for longer periods if you choose to that.Once you regain a calmer state of mind, you’ll be better able to apply rational thinking to assess your situation and then determine what action - if any - is in order.---Timestamps:00:00 - Episode info;00:23 - Show and host info;01:12 - Frontal Occipital Hold to calm anxiety and stress;01:27 - Why this works;03:51 - How to apply the 3-step Frontal Occipital Hold technique;05:45 - How to contact Steve for questions or comments.—Host:Stephen Carter, CEO, Stress Solutions, LLC. NEWMORROW SESSIONS - A PodCast Series on the Future of Hospitality Mario C. Bauer, Florian Schneider, Axel Weber & Dr. Tillman Bardt The Newmorrow PodCast is more than a podcast — it's a platform for open dialog on the future of our business, a platform for those building what doesn’t exist yet. Here, we share and embrace our passion for the hospitality industry, but we won’t romanticize the journey. We ask the tough questions, confront uncomfortable truths, and prepare for a future that resists easy answers. We believe that the tougher and wilder times become, the more openly, honestly and humanely people need to talk to each other and act together. We believe, openness, togetherness, and truthfulness should also be cornerstones of a professional community to develop our utopian idea of „open source“. This is a space where visionaries don’t just imagine the future — they wrestle with the paradoxes that shape it: success vs. happiness, data vs. instinct, stability vs. reinvention. Join leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers as they share not what made them — but what’s actively shaping them, now and next.
