Approval recommended for Head Start building

The Pipestone Planning Commission, during its June 10 meeting, recommended that the Pipestone City Council approve a conditional use permit allowing the Southwest Minnesota Opportunity Council (SMOC) to build a Head Start facility on property it owns at the corner of North Hiawatha Avenue and 11th Street Northeast. The recommendation included the conditions that a line of trees be planted to provide screening between the building and Pipestone National Monument, and that outdoor lighting be downward facing and dimmable.
