Apps for Better Living: The Breathing App

from Today’s Gut Health Tip · host Melissa Hall Klepacki, M.Ac.

The Breathing App is inspired by resonance, the scientific name that describes what happens when our heart rate, heart rate variability, blood pressure, and brainwave function come into a coherent frequency. It occurs spontaneously when we breathe at a rate of five to seven breaths per minute (instead of our usual 15-18). It results in a calm, restful alertness and has many other benefits.  Choose your duration and breath ratio and get started.  Couldn't be simpler.  Check out their quick start video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXpsoGHnEiU&list=UUNMy2KojFn0jMbxbHZVppGw&index=4 Breathwork is a great form of mindfulness and meditation.  This app can be used anywhere at anytime you need to relax and chill out.  It's free and worth a try.  You can download it here:  https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-breathing-app/id1285982210
