Apps for Better Living: Yummly

from Today’s Gut Health Tip · host Melissa Hall Klepacki, M.Ac.

With oh so many Cooking and Foodie apps on the market why, you ask, is Yummly my favorite? First, it contains over 2 million recipes from the best of the best top recipe sites and food blogs like Allrecipes, Epicurious, Food52, Smitten Kitchen, and more. It can be personalized to your tastes & dietary needs.  You tell Yummly your diets, allergies, tastes, and preferences and they'll only serve up recipes that match. As you use Yummly, like magic, it learns about what you like. The more you Yum, the better it gets! It offers step-by-step recipes, including video tutorials, timers, and more handy tools to make cooking a breeze.  Perhaps my favorite feature is the one I use when in a pinch.  You know, end (or beginning) of the week and the refridgerator is looking pretty bare.  Simply click the search buttom at the bottom of the screen and add up the ingredients you have. I tried the following search ong for these ingredients: sweet potato, ground turkey, cheddar cheese, and eggs and Yummly delivered some great recipes including Turkey Meatloafs, Shepeard's Pie, and even a breakfast casserole that all sounded, well, YUUMY! It's free and easy.  Give it a whirl!  https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/yummly-recipes-shopping-list/id589625334 or just www.yummly.com
