April 12th, 2018 - Alouette
from Radio One Chicago Hosted by Radio One Chicago
Alouette is a noisy duo drawing from Iggy-swagger, Patti Smith spoken-word-punk and The Fall minimalism/sneer while toeing the line between lo-fi garage and post-punk. Only two people, Alouette fills up an entire room with raspy vox & guitar of Jenn Sencha, who plays without a pick, and James dB, who’s only been drumming since Alouette began playing together in 2016. The band spent 2017 honing their sound, playing shows in Chicago and touring the Midwest in support of the début “Psychomotor EP.” They began 2018 in the studio recording a second EP to be released in April 2018 with tours down south and to the East Coast USA to follow. Radio One Chicago airs live every Thursday night from 6p to 8p cst on WLUW.org, 88.7 FM
