(0:00-10:00) As Notre Dame burned yesterday, thousands of people stood in solidarity, offering prayers, singing hymns, all joined in the spirit of grief as the fire raged. Brian and Ian examine how this near-tragedy brought people together and how even a very secular city such as Paris, could still love and respect a house of the Lord. (10:00-19:13) A sense of wonder and awe is common when encountering things of great majesty. But how can people channel that same feeling when encountering the Lord? Brian and Ian discuss these feelings and occurrences in which people draw closer to God because of them. (19:13-28:35) Empathy is something that people experience less and less every day. Both Ian and Brian discuss how people's empathy towards those who act similar to ourselves has allowed feeling empathy to those who act differently to lessen. (28:35-39:02) A recent U.N. report detailed how America has become the most unequal developed nation due to its poverty issues. Brian and Ian delve into the report and reactions to it, as well as whether or not people of faith should be involved in politics. (39:02-49:27) VP Mike Pence will be speaking at Taylor University's 2019 Commencement Ceremony. Reactions have been overwhelming from both sides on the matter, and both hosts have thoughts on it too. They break down this decision by Taylor, the reactions and offer their thoughts on the situation (49:27-58:18) Easter is a solemn time but it can also be a time of joy and fun for pastors. Quentin Road senior pastor Jim Scudder joins Brian and Ian on air to share what his church has planned for Easter Celebrations and his thoughts on the occasion of Christ's death and resurrection. (58:18-1:08) A church out in Colorado is turning former meth homes into safe spaces for homeless mothers and their children. Brian and Ian discuss the church's mission to help those in need, how these homes offer help and the impact it is having on both the helped and the church's lives. (1:08-1:14) Brian and Ian's Weird Stuff They Found On the Internet. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
