APRIL 16 - Wise or Whatever3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 14:18–19; Mark 16//3-Year Bible (Year 1) Devotional Book Available on Amazon//________________________________________“The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. The evil bow down before the good, the wicked at the gates of the righteous.” — Proverbs 14:18–19“And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.’” — Mark 16:15________________________________________Let’s be real—nobody likes feeling clueless or like they’ve been played. Whether it’s falling for a fake rumor or just making a dumb decision, those moments can leave us cringing. Proverbs reminds us that being “simple”—aka not thinking things through—leads to foolishness. But choosing wisdom? That leads to something way better: knowledge, respect, and ultimately, victory. In Proverbs 14:18–19, it’s clear that wisdom puts you ahead, even when the world seems upside down.Fast forward to Mark 16, and we see Jesus giving His followers the ultimate mission: Go tell everyone about Me. This is the call to live wisely—to live boldly and purposefully. It’s not about having all the answers, but trusting the One who does. The disciples didn’t always get it right, but after seeing the risen Jesus, they went all in. They weren’t just “whatever” about life—they had a purpose, and it changed the world.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Your Direction Matters: Are you living like someone who’s just “going with the flow,” or are you asking God for wisdom daily? Simple doesn’t mean stupid—it means unwise. Start asking, “God, what’s the wise choice here?”2. Wisdom Wins in the End: Even if it feels like people who cheat or cut corners are winning right now, Proverbs 14:19 promises the tables will turn. Keep walking with God. Your faithfulness will be worth it.3. You’ve Got a Mission: Jesus didn’t just rise from the dead for a cool ending—He gave us a purpose. Sharing His love and truth with others (see Mark 16:15) is how we live out that mission with wisdom and courage.________________________________________BOTTOM LINELiving wisely means trusting God, seeking truth, and walking with purpose—even when it’s hard. In the end, wisdom wins, and God’s mission moves forward through people like you.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that wisdom comes from You. Help me not to live passively or foolishly but to seek Your guidance in every choice I make. Give me courage to live on mission, to share Your truth, and to trust that doing what’s right will always be worth it. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
