April 19 2016 - Variety of Gifts

In 1 Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul mentions a number of spiritual gifts - "To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues" (1 Cor. 8-10). Then Paul writes, "All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills" (vs. 11).Spirital gifts have been given by God to strengthen and unify the Body of Christ. "To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good" (vs. 7). It is tragic that Satan has used something that God designed for unity to cause division and fragmentation in the Church. Let's bring this to God in prayer today!
