APRIL 2 - Wise Steps and Healing Hearts3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 13:15-16; Psalm 38; Mark 2//3-Year Bible (Year 1) Devotional Book Available on Amazon//________________________________________“Good sense wins favor, but the way of the treacherous is their ruin. Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly.” — Proverbs 13:15–16“I am utterly bowed down and prostrate; all the day I go about mourning. For my sides are filled with burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.” — Psalm 38:6–7“And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven.’” — Mark 2:5________________________________________Sometimes it’s easy to make choices based on what feels good in the moment—snapping back at someone, going along with a crowd, or ignoring a little warning in your heart. But Proverbs 13:15–16 reminds us that wise choices lead to favor, while foolish ones lead to trouble. In Psalm 38, David is overwhelmed with guilt and physical pain because of his sin. He’s not just feeling bad emotionally—he feels it in his body. That’s how deep regret can go when we ignore wisdom. But here’s the good news: Mark 2 shows us Jesus doesn’t just see the surface; He sees our hearts. When a group of friends brought a paralyzed man to Jesus, He didn’t start by healing his legs. He started by healing his soul—by forgiving his sins. Jesus knew the man needed spiritual healing most of all. When we’ve messed up or feel broken inside like David, Jesus is ready to forgive, restore, and help us start fresh. Wisdom isn’t about being perfect—it’s about turning to the One who is.________________________________________THINK ABOUT ITBOTTOM LINEWisdom leads to favor, but mistakes don’t have to define us. Jesus sees our hearts, forgives our sins, and invites us to walk in healing and wholeness.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for being patient with me when I mess up. Please give me a heart that desires wisdom and help me to make good choices each day. When I feel weighed down by guilt or regret, remind me of Your forgiveness and healing. Teach me to lean on You and to bring others closer to You too. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
