April 2020 Weekly Dashboards

Today’s BIG Idea is based on a project I did last week and another project I’m working on this week.  In normal times, a monthly dashboard to providers may work just fine.  With all of today’s uncertainty, some practices are moving to weekly dashboards.  I’ll discuss some of the metrics they keep (think payments) and some measures that do not make the weekly dashboard, like wRVUs.  I will also talk about some of the time periods to use to compare last week’s numbers to that give context to the metrics.  Whatever you do, don’t try to do a weekly dashboard manually.  If you ever needed a reason to automate a dashboard, this is it.  Hoping you, your family, and your practice are safe and well.
