She completed her bachelor’s degree at McGill University followed by her MD at the University of Western Ontario, followed by general surgery training in Canada and plastic surgery residency at UCSF and Montefiore. She even completed a clinical microsurgery and hand fellowship at the Buncke Clinic in 1980.
