April 24, 2020: Earth Day Special: Co-producer Ken Norton on the February 1970 Survival Faire at San Jose State, and guest Maya Khosla on Sustainable Forest Care to Draw Down Carbon

This week’s radio show (podcast) features our Earth Day Special with our co-producer Ken Norton recounting the Survival Faire, where on February 20, 1970, two months before the first national Earth Day, students bought and buried a new car to call attention to the environmental damage caused by the gasoline engine, as well as other issues like pesticide use. The SF Chronicle reported on it with a photo included on this show’s web page. Also, the New York Times reported the action for national attention. Our guest Maya Khosla of the Sonoma County Climate Action Network discusses sustainable forest care with wildfires in mind. Visit the show’s web archive page for bios on the speakers, segment descriptions, links referenced, this week in Herstory, and the playlist. http://www.womensspaces.com/ArchiveWSA23/WSA230424.html
