April: Immersion therapy and putting yourself out there

from Adam · host Adam Webber

Today April called in with her story about fear and overcoming them by going head on immersion therapy. April grew up with a father who was adventurous and thrill seeking and take her on his airplane to fly loops in the air. Her mother was always outgoing and super friendly. April has the spirit of both her parents but one day when she went into the hospital to have bloodwork done for the first time ever she experienced fear of needles. Eventually she reached a stage in life where she would face this fear by becoming a human guinea pig for lab tests and she underwent lots of shots and treatments. She even began donating plasma and blood. Through this head on collision with her fear she forced herself to over come it. Then she made a list to keep tackling her fears. April and I spoke about the fear of being judged, perfectionism, being motivated by helping others and a lot more.
