AQ1W - Online Safety Bill rant

The Online Safety Bill passed yesterday. While there is nothing wrong with making the Internet a safer place, there is plenty wrong with the Act, which has some pretty powerful yet suspiciously vague tools for authorities to use, and opens the door to the very real possibility that Internet and connectivity in the UK will become, for the authorities, the equivalent of making every wall in every house out of glass and having the entire security apparatus of the State sat outside watching. Probably with popcorn you paid for.Freedom isn't a right; it has to be guarded and fought for. And removing Freedom under the guise of 'keeping children safe' is both disengenuos and dangerous.I apologise in advance. I had a neat little treaty in my head which turned into a 20 minute rant, during whih my cup of tea - the quick one referred to in the title - went cold.
